Statement of Purpose

Friends of Blue Hole, a non-profit corporation, will promote, protect, preserve, and develop the Blue Hole park owned by the Village of Wimberley; will raise and administer funds for a master plan for the parkland, for the construction of park facilities, and for the maintenance and operation of the park. Our valued Volunteers

More than a 100 volunteers are striving in a variety of ways to accomplish the mission of the Friends of Blue Hole.

Leading these volunteers are members of the Village of Wimberley Parks and Recreation Board: Malcolm Harris, Horace Wilson, Mark Bursiel, Tim Thompson, Jan Fulkerson, Thad Nance, Dell Hood, Christine Byrne, and Linda Hudson.

And, the Blue Hole Stakeholder Group of more than two dozen volunteers worked for more than a year on the Blue Hole park master plan. 

Blue Hole is open summers with volunteers helping in many areas, including gate entry, swim area supervision, parking management, and trash pickup.

Also, assistance is on-going or planned from area master gardeners as well as Keep Wimberley Beautiful volunteers.

And Friends of Blue Hole director and vice-president Marilee Wood has agreed to act as the liaison to the Village of Wimberley City Council for Friends of Blue Hole.
